Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Platform Software Engineer in Oklahoma City, OK to own the backend behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and our public TTS API, serving millions of users across web and mobile.

You will design, build, and improve services, collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams, and bring high-availability deployments with Docker and Kubernetes. This is a mission-critical platform role with significant impact on product reliability and scale.

Qualifications

• Back-end experience with TS/Node.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and familiarity with AWS/Azure.
• Ability to automate and improve processes with AI/automation.
• Strong debugging and logging discipline to verify state and correctness.
• Good judgment to prune unnecessary work and explain tradeoffs.
• Comfort with containerized deployments (Docker).
• Experience deploying at scale with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and our public TTS API.
• Improve, optimize, and make services faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Ensure changes are correct before shipping and implement checks for reliability.
• Automate repetitive aspects of the role and scale repeatable work across the team.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend architecture aligned with product direction.
