Job summary

Bitovi is seeking a Backend / Platform Developer Consultant to design and run durable enterprise systems on AWS, Kubernetes, and with Kafka/Temporal. You will own both code and infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders across large migrations and platform modernization efforts.

You’ll lead and implement JVM services, Kafka pipelines, GraphQL APIs, and CI/CD pipelines, while prioritizing reliability, observability, and scalable architectures in a fully remote US role.

Qualifications

• Experience building and running enterprise-level applications across JVM services, event streams, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing and operating Kafka-based event streaming systems with topic/partition design and consumer management.
• Experience designing and building GraphQL APIs including schema design, resolvers, and performance considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Java services, Temporal workflows, and Kafka-based event pipelines.
• Lead modernization efforts by moving workflows, services, and data across platforms and clouds with observability in mind.
• Build and operate Kubernetes-native infrastructure and CI/CD on AWS for safe, rapid delivery.
