Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a technically fluent Backend Capability Product Specialist to own the backend platform, API ecosystem, and third‑party integration layer of our SaaS product suite.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, business strategy, and market intelligence - driving the development of scalable, interoperable systems that power both internal capabilities and external partner integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience.
• 4+ years focused on backend systems, APIs, or platform products.
• Proven track record delivering SaaS platform features at scale.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design and modern integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmap for backend systems, APIs, and data platform capabilities.
• Define API design standards, versioning strategies, and developer experience (DX) principles.
• Drive the vision for a scalable, event‑driven microservices architecture with engineering leads.
• Establish API governance including authentication, rate limiting, and SLA commitments.
• Lead strategy for third‑party integrations, partner APIs, and marketplace ecosystem development.
• Monitor market trends and build ROI‑based business cases for platform investments.
