OpenKrill is seeking a Software Engineer, Payments based in the United States. You will help build backend services and APIs powering policy management, enrollment, and regional rules across a global platform.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, Legal, and other engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions. This remote-eligible role supports multi-region expansion and compliant product development.

Qualifications

• Strong backend focus with production services experience.
• Experience designing, building, deploying, and operating backend services and APIs in production.
• Proficiency with relational databases and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for policy administration, coverage, enrollment, and regional rules.
• Translate requirements into clean, well-tested code and configurable platform features.
• Build distributed services within a service-oriented architecture for reliability and scalability.
• Develop data pipelines and event-driven systems to measure performance and optimize coverage adoption.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerts, and metrics to ensure system health and fast troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions meeting business and regional needs.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design, and engineering planning to ensure quality.
