Job summary

OpenKrill is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for Payments based in the United States. You will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, model analytics-ready datasets, and collaborate across Engineering, Product, Finance, and Data Science to support financial reconciliation and operational reporting.

You will strengthen data quality, observability, and modeling practices to drive reliable insights and scale protection offerings into new markets.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in data/software engineering or closely related field.
• Strong experience designing and maintaining production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Proven data modeling expertise for analytics, operations, and decision-making.
• Hands-on with large-scale distributed data processing (e.g., Spark).
• Advanced SQL and proficiency in Python/Scala/Java.
• Experience with workflow orchestration with Airflow.
• Ability to work with varied data sources, reconcile data, and transform into reliable warehouse models.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for core products and workflows.
• Develop analytics-ready data models and metrics for reconciliation, reporting, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with engineers and data partners to integrate data sources and transform datasets.
• Maintain high data quality, documentation, and ownership across assets.
• Improve pipeline reliability, testing, monitoring, and observability practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
