Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc. is seeking a Backend Engineering Manager to lead the architecture, development, and operation of scalable backend services powering our solar ecosystem.

You’ll oversee cloud-based microservices, data models, and API design, collaborating with product, mobile, web, TPM, and hardware teams across regions. In this role you will mentor a distributed team, drive technical strategy, ensure reliability and security, and align backend roadmaps with business goals to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of backend software development experience.
• 3+ years in engineering management leading backend teams.
• Strong technical expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), REST APIs, event‑driven systems, and relational/non‑relational databases.
• Proven track record building and operating production microservices at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the backend technical roadmap supporting mobile, web, and device software experiences.
• Own backend architecture including microservices, data models, API standards, event streaming patterns, and integration frameworks.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing team of backend engineers across multiple time zones.
