Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc. in California is seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical leadership and coordination across origination, development, design, construction, and commissioning of community solar, C&I solar, PV+ESS, PV-only, and ESS-only projects nationwide.

You will work with development teams, EPC partners, utilities, consultants, and equipment manufacturers to evaluate feasibility, manage risks, optimize designs, and support successful project execution from early development

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Energy, or related Engineering discipline.
3-7 years of experience in solar energy, storage, or renewable energy project engineering.
Experience supporting community solar, C&I solar, distributed generation, or energy storage projects.
Understanding of development, permitting, interconnection, and construction processes.
Experience managing engineering consultants and reviewing technical deliverables.
Strong understanding of PV and/or battery energy storage systems.
Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead technical due diligence activities for projects at various stages of development. Review and coordinate conceptual layouts, electrical single-line diagrams, equipment selections, and engineering deliverables.
Support project optimization efforts to improve energy production, constructability, economics, and long-term asset performance.
Review energy modeling assumptions and production estimates prepared using PVsyst, HelioScope, or similar tools.
Coordinate engineering support for permitting, interconnection, utility reviews, and AHJ requirements.
Manage external engineering consultants, surveyors, geotechnical firms, and specialty contractors.
Support EPC procurement activities, including preparation of technical scopes of work and review of contractor proposals.
Participate in technology evaluations and technical assessments of PV modules, inverters, battery systems, racking, transformers, and balance-of-system equipment.
Conduct site visits and support project assessments to identify technical constraints and development risks.
Track engineering deliverables, schedules, and technical issues across an assigned portfolio of projects.
Identify and communicate project risks impacting schedule, cost, permitting, interconnection, constructability, and overall project feasibility.
Support construction activities through review of technical submittals, RFIs, design changes, and commissioning documentation.
Provide technical support to project stakeholders, including developers, investors, utilities, EPC contractors, and asset owners.
