Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Platform backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs (public TTS, Payment, Subscription, Auth, Usage) that meet business needs and scale across a 100% distributed product.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, use TS/Node, deploy on cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure), and work with Docker and Kubernetes to deliver high-availability services in an asynchronous, fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
• Ability to translate product decisions into robust backend services.
• Familiarity with containerized deployments and modern CI/CD.
• Experience building scalable, high-availability APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on enterprise solutions, focusing on customization and integration for clients.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product and user experience.
