Job summary

TheGuarantors is seeking a Software Engineer for Risk Solutions to own and evolve the underwriting and pricing infrastructure in a hybrid NYC role. You will influence end-to-end decisioning, data integrations, and pricing logic while collaborating with product, design, and risk teams.

You will leverage Go, Java, Python, or C# along with strong SQL and cloud/IaC tooling to build resilient services. Candidates should be adept at distributed systems and microservices in a fast-paced fintech

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building backend services.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or C#, with openness to Go.
• Advanced SQL skills and PostgreSQL or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud providers and IaC tooling such as Terraform and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Own underwriting and pricing platform end-to-end from requirements to production.
• Lead technical design discussions and code reviews.
• Build and extend decisioning systems at the core of underwriting and pricing.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Operations, Risk analysts, and Engineering.
• Communicate updates, risks, blockers, and recommendations clearly.
• Identify opportunities to improve team processes, engineering output, and user experience.
• Manage assigned work independently and meet deadlines and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other role-related responsibilities as assigned.
