Job summary

TheGuarantors is seeking a Software Engineer for Risk Solutions to own and evolve the underwriting and pricing infrastructure in a hybrid NYC role. You will influence end-to-end decisioning, data integrations, and pricing logic while collaborating with product, design, and risk teams.

You will leverage Go, Java, Python, or C# along with strong SQL and cloud/IaC tooling to build resilient services. Candidates should be adept at distributed systems and microservices in a fast-paced fintech

Qualifications

5+ years of experience building backend services.
Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or C#, with openness to Go.
Advanced SQL skills and PostgreSQL or equivalent.
Experience with cloud providers and IaC tooling such as Terraform and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

Own underwriting and pricing platform end-to-end from requirements to production.
Lead technical design discussions and code reviews.
Build and extend decisioning systems at the core of underwriting and pricing.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Operations, Risk analysts, and Engineering.
Communicate updates, risks, blockers, and recommendations clearly.
Identify opportunities to improve team processes, engineering output, and user experience.
Manage assigned work independently and meet deadlines and deliverables.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Perform other role-related responsibilities as assigned.
