Job summary

Sift, a data infrastructure platform for hardware teams, seeks a product engineering role where you own features end-to-end—from customer interviews to MVPs and iterations. You’ll design agentic systems, manage tool interfaces, and scale workloads on Kubernetes for large telemetry datasets.

You will build dependable agent functionality, contribute to MCP server, and improve observability and performance across distributed services. This is a hybrid role with in-person collaboration in California.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Built APIs (REST, gRPC) and backend services.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience with Go, Python, or Rust is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Talk directly to customers to understand review workflows and turn them into agent capabilities.
• Design, ship, and operate agentic systems that analyze large-scale time-series data and domain context.
• Build and maintain APIs powering agent capabilities and MCP server interactions.
• Develop evaluation suites to measure usefulness, latency, cost, and reliability in production.
• Work with Kubernetes-based orchestration for real-time workloads and on-prem/off-cloud deployments.
