Job summary

Sift is seeking a product engineering leader to own the Sift Agents space and collaborate with hardware engineers. You will drive the MVP to production, design scalable agentic systems, and directly engage customers to align roadmaps with real review workflows.

You will build and operate distributed systems over time-series data, design APIs, and scale Kubernetes workloads in cloud and on-prem environments while advancing MCP and frontier model integrations.

Qualifications

• Have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Own a product area: talk to customers, decide what to build, and ship it.
• Have built APIs (REST, gRPC) and complex backend services with Go, Python, Rust, or similar.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals.
• Curious about new AI products: try new agents, models, and features and have opinions about them.

Responsibilities

• Talk directly to customers and partner with product to turn real review workflows into agent capabilities: generating dashboards, writing analysis scripts, and surfacing insights buried in telemetry.
• Design, ship, and operate agentic systems that reason over large-scale time-series data and hardware domain context.
• Build tooling around model use: interfaces, sandboxed execution, context/memory management, and guardrails.
• Create and maintain the distributed systems enabling long-running agent workloads in real time, with resilience across restarts.
• Design and implement job-based execution systems to schedule, scale, and tear down agent workloads on Kubernetes (cloud and on-prem).
• Develop and maintain the MCP server to expose tool surfaces for agents and customer tools to query telemetry.
• Design and implement APIs powering agentic capabilities.
• Build evaluation suites to measure impact and instrument quality, latency, cost, and failure modes in production.
• Integrate frontier models across providers.
