Job summary

Chick-fil-A Odessa is seeking a Shift Leader to support daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant. You will help ensure food safety, accuracy, and operational efficiency while mentoring teammates to reach their potential.

You lead by example, uphold cleanliness standards, coordinate with Front of House, and run shifts as a key holder. Weekly schedules balance mornings and days with Sundays off to support the brand culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles preferred in a restaurant setting.

• Maintain inventory counts and complete end-of-day kitchen checks.

Shift Leader

A Shift Leader must have chick fil a experience and is one who consistently demonstrates our core values, embraces the Chick-fil-A culture, and leads with a servant's heart. They take pride in food safety, accuracy, and operational efficiency, while fostering a supportive and productive kitchen environment.

Shift Leaders are responsible for supporting senior leadership in executing daily kitchen operations and holding team members accountable for each component of Operational Excellence, particularly in the areas of speed, accuracy, food safety, and quality. Their two main areas of focus are ensuring the kitchen runs effectively by completing essential operational tasks and coaching/developing team members to reach their full potential.

They lead by example, setting the tone for professionalism, teamwork, and a sense of urgency. Shift Leaders maintain high food safety and cleanliness standards, ensure smooth coordination with Front of House, and keep kitchen operations running efficiently during their shifts.

Shift Leader Responsibilities:

• Participate in operationally running day-to-day kitchen activities in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant
• Ensure all food safety and quality standards are met consistently
• Assist in training new kitchen team members, set the tone for each shift, and serve as a role model for the team
• Foster a positive, supportive, and efficient work environment
• Open and/or close the kitchen, lead shifts, and serve as a key holder
• Maintain accurate counts for inventory and supplies, completing end-of-day kitchen checks and reports
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, to ensure smooth coordination with team members and leadership
• You will be required to pay for your first uniform.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred (Shift Lead, Crew Lead, Supervisor, Team Lead, Restaurant Manager, or Assistant Manager)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with kitchen team members and leadership
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment and make quick, informed decisions
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive attitude
• Commitment to Chick-fil-A's values and mission
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor with team members at all times
• Strong people skills with a desire to support, train, and develop kitchen team members
• Reliable transportation
• Commitment to maintaining superior food quality, safety, and operational standards

• Ability to address team member behavioral and performance issues professionally and constructively
• Be available to open or close, work Saturdays. Working around the business needs is a requirement.
