Job summary

Superhuman is seeking a Back-End Engineer to build scalable services powering AI agent orchestration and real-time data pipelines across the Go, Mail, Docs, and Enterprise products. You will design schedulers, history storage, and robust APIs, collaborating with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in backend development, hands-on cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure), and a strong drive to ship AI-powered features with high reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in back-end development with strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Experience building, deploying, and debugging production systems at scale.
• Comfort working with AI-powered systems and building infrastructure for AI products.
• Fluency with AI coding tools and a perspective on how they change software development.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate high-throughput production services powering AI agent orchestration, integrations, and real-time data pipelines.
• Design core platform services—task schedulers, session/history, client-server protocols, and APIs.
• Collaborate with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End engineers to ship AI-powered features end to end.
• Develop and evolve infrastructure as code with emphasis on high availability for consumer and enterprise customers.
• Mentor and grow junior engineers on the team.
