Job summary

Meier Insurance Agency is seeking a Trainee Sales Representative to learn and grow in supplemental insurance. You will engage in B2B outreach, educate clients on policy benefits, and build a growing book of business through cold calling and networking.

Qualifications

• Experience using accounting or sales-related software is beneficial
• Willingness to learn about the insurance industry, insurance programs, and state and federal regulations that may impact policyholders
• Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is required
• Must be a superb communicator able to carefully analyze complex ideas like insurance programs; experience working in customer service is beneficial
• Candidates must have or be willing to get an insurance license

Responsibilities

• Business-to-business cold calling meetings with potential clients and educate them on the benefits of supplemental insurance offerings
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and addressing their insurance needs building your book of business
• Update reports, records, bookkeeping systems, and other organizational tools to accurately report progress toward monthly insurance sales goals
• Tailor risk management strategies and client profiles to reflect each customer's individual needs
• Stay abreast of changes to rules or policies within the insurance agency to effectively amend insurance programs for existing and prospective clients
• Implement marketing strategies including, but not limited to cold calling and networking to connect with potential clients while maintaining a portfolio of current clients
• Conduct meetings with new and potential clients and listen to their circumstances to present the best insurance policies
