LHH is partnering with a growing manufacturing company seeking an experienced Business-to-Business Collections Specialist to join its accounting team. This role focuses exclusively on commercial/B2B collections and requires prior experience managing business accounts and outstanding receivables.

The ideal candidate is professional, persistent, and comfortable communicating directly with customers regarding past-due balances while maintaining strong business relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Business-to-Business (B2B) collections experience required.
• Commercial collections experience is required; consumer collections experience alone will not meet the requirements of this position.
• Previous experience within manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or a similar B2B environment strongly preferred.
• Experience managing a portfolio of commercial accounts and high-dollar outstanding balances.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, aging reports, and collection processes.
• Experience researching and resolving billing and payment discrepancies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional and confident approach to customer collection conversations.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business-to-business accounts and actively collect outstanding receivables.
• Contact commercial customers by phone and email regarding past-due invoices.
• Review AR aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on account status and balances.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, short payments, deductions, and billing issues.
• Document collection activity, customer communication, payment commitments, and account status.
• Follow up on promised payments and elevate significantly past-due accounts when appropriate.
• Partner with Accounts Receivable, Sales, Customer Service, and other internal departments to resolve account issues.
• Provide invoice copies, statements, and supporting documentation to customers as needed.
• Assist with cash application and account reconciliations as needed.
• Monitor customer payment patterns and proactively identify potential collection concerns.
• Maintain accurate customer account information within the ERP/accounting system.
• Support month-end AR reporting and collection activities.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers while effectively driving payment resolution.
