Job summary

BMO Financial Group seeks a Principal Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable Azure infrastructure and platform services. You will implement landing zones, governance, and reusable capabilities, enabling workloads at scale across the organization.

Responsibilities include DevOps and SRE practices, IaC using GitHub Actions, Terraform, or CDKTF, and collaboration with engineering teams to promote standardized Azure platform capabilities while ensuring security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience engineering on Microsoft Azure in large-scale or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of Azure platforming, networking, identity, access management, and governance.
• Experience designing for scalability, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and operate production Azure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Azure cloud infrastructure and shared platform services.
• Implement and maintain Azure landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity, and governance.
• Build Azure PaaS, containers, and managed services as reusable platform capabilities.
• Ensure platforms meet scalability, resilience, performance, cost efficiency, and reuse.
• Apply DevOps and SRE practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness.
• Build and operationalize foundational platform services and tooling for engineering teams.
