Job summary

BMO Financial Group seeks an exceptional Principal Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate Azure infrastructure at scale. You will own foundational platform services, IaC automation, security-by-design, and governance while partnering with cross‑functional teams to enable cloud adoption.

You will lead efforts across landing zones, PaaS, and cloud tooling, delivering scalable, observable, and cost‑effective platforms for complex workloads in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 10+ years in cloud/platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale Azure environments in regulated contexts.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, IaC, security, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Azure cloud infrastructure and shared platform services.
• Implement landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity, and governance.
• Create reusable platform capabilities and deployment patterns for cloud adoption.
• Embed DevOps and SRE practices with CI/CD, monitoring, and operational readiness.
• Develop automation to provision environments securely and consistently.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide standardized capabilities and guidelines.
• Ensure scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency across platforms.
• Support security reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
