Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead delivery of cloud platform and infrastructure capabilities across government-focused programs. You will guide technical direction for Azure Government, drive DevSecOps, and balance risk, quality, and long-term platform health across multiple workstreams.

The role requires 7+ years in engineering with cloud experience, Azure certifications, and strong leadership in Agile environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in engineering roles with cloud IaaS, PaaS, and/or SaaS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Azure AZ-104 and AZ-305 certifications.
• Hands-on IaC & CI/CD: Bicep, Azure DevOps, ARM templates, or Ansible.
• Containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, Helm.
• Networking fundamentals: VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, load-balancing.
• Cloud security: shared responsibility, least privilege, logging/monitoring (NIST, FedRAMP).
• Identity: Entra ID, Azure RBAC, Entra ID RBAC, managed identities.
• Windows/Linux administration: patching, performance tuning, security baselines.
• Scripting: PowerShell (Python a plus).
• Government security frameworks (NIST) experience.
• Delivery in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Strong written and verbal communication in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of cloud platform and infra capabilities across initiatives.
• Guide technical direction for Azure Government platforms (scalable, secure).
• Establish and evolve DevSecOps practices and automation for quality and reliability.
• Make informed trade-off decisions balancing speed, quality, risk, and health.
• Lead architecture and design reviews for standards alignment.
• Oversee risk, dependency, and issue management across delivery teams.
• Influence stakeholders to align priorities without direct authority.
• Mentor engineers and grow team capability through coaching.
• Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement.
