Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Database Engineer to design, implement, and maintain databases and related products enabling analytics and business operations. You will build data pipelines and front-end interfaces for data updates, across cloud platforms, with a focus on SQL, Azure SQL, and Power Platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or professional certifications preferred with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in data engineering, database development, or a closely related role that included building production ETL/ELT pipelines for relational databases such as SQL Server and/or Azure SQL.
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data quality, and pipeline orchestration.
• Advanced SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with using Python for data processing, automation, and API integration.
• Experience with Git-based development and version control.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure and/or AWS
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Office products (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Fabric)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, and business applications.
• Collaborate with data analysts, business stakeholders, and engineers to translate data requirements into scalable solutions.
• Develop solutions using Power Platform products including PowerApps, Power Automate, Azure SQL, etc.
• Ensure data quality and integrity using validation, verification, and reconciliation processes.
• Optimize database performance through indexing and data structures.
• Monitor database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
• Maintain documentation such as data dictionaries, models, and user guides.
• Assist with training and support for end-users on database systems and applications.
• Lead by example and align with CBRE RISE values.
• Communicate clearly and work within standardized procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.
