Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Database Engineer to design and implement data pipelines and platforms that support analytics, reporting, and business operations. You will work with analysts, application teams, and fellow engineers to translate complex data requirements into scalable solutions using SQL Server/Azure SQL and Power Platform tools.

You will ensure data quality, optimize performance, and contribute to documentation and security practices while supporting end-users and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or professional certifications preferred with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered
• Experience in data engineering, database development, or a closely related role with production ETL/ELT pipelines for relational databases such as SQL Server and/or Azure SQL
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data quality, and pipeline orchestration
• Advanced SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling
• Familiarity with Python for data processing, automation, and API integration
• Experience with Git-based development and version control
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure and/or AWS
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Lists, PowerBI, Fabric)
• Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems
• Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments
• Organizational skills with a proactive mindset; Agile experience preferred
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and data platforms
• Collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, and engineers to translate data requirements into scalable solutions
• Develop solutions using Power Platform products including PowerApps, Power Automate, Azure SQL
• Ensure data quality and integrity through validation and reconciliation processes
• Optimize database and application performance via queries, indexing, and data structures
• Monitor database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans
• Maintain data documentation such as data dictionaries and models
• Assist with training and support for end-users of database systems
