Job summary

CBRE seeks a Database Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and platforms supporting analytics and operational applications. You will work with data analysts, stakeholders, and engineers to turn complex data requirements into scalable solutions on Azure SQL and related tools.

The role emphasizes data quality, performance optimization, and documentation, with focus on Power Platform integration and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience; combination of experience and education also considered
• Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines for relational databases (SQL Server/Azure SQL)
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data quality and pipeline orchestration
• Advanced SQL skills: joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, query optimization
• Familiarity with Python for data processing, automation, and API integration
• Experience with Git-based development and version control
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure and/or AWS
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Office products (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
• Ability to solve standard problems using established procedures
• Organizational skills with a curious mindset; Agile experience preferred
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and platforms supporting analytics and reporting
• Collaborate with data analysts, stakeholders, and engineers to translate data requirements into scalable solutions
• Develop solutions using Power Platform products including Power Apps and Power Automate and Azure SQL
• Ensure data quality and integrity through validation and reconciliation processes
• Optimize database and application performance via queries, indexing, and data structures
• Monitor database security, backups, and disaster recovery planning
• Maintain data documentation like data dictionaries and models
• Assist with end-user training and support for database systems
