Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation in the United States seeks an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to design, deploy, and secure government-oriented cloud solutions for Navy C4I. You will engineer Azure connectivity, govern identity, implement Defender and RMF controls, and drive automation with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires DoD IL5 experience, active clearance, and strong collaboration with cybersecurity and enterprise teams to deliver resilient, compliant cloud architectures

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required at start, with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II qualification (Security+ CE or equivalent) required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline.
• Five or more years in Microsoft Azure systems engineering (architecture, deployment, configuration, admin, sustainment).
• Experience with Azure Government or DoD-owned cloud environments.
• Hybrid cloud architectures integrating on premises with Azure services.
• Azure networking including virtual networks, subnets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute.
• Operating systems management across Linux, Windows, and VMware.
• Cloud security implementation with Defender, Azure Firewall, baselines, least privilege, RBAC, Zero Trust.
• Identity and access management with privileged access and service identities.
• Terraform, Azure Automation, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar.
• DoD IL5 environments experience preferred.
• Ability to produce architecture diagrams, implementation plans, RMF/ATO evidence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, secure, and sustain Azure and Azure Government cloud architectures for Navy C4I.
• Support hybrid cloud solutions integrating on premise infra with Azure services.
• Engineer Azure connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway) and on premises integration.
• Manage Azure networking (VNet, subnets, NSGs, routing, segmentation).
• Implement cloud security using Defender, Azure Firewall, baselines, RBAC, and Zero Trust.
• Administer Azure identity, privileged access, and service identities.
• Architect and support Azure Virtual Desktop, VMs, and containerized workloads.
• Develop infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Azure Automation, scripting, and CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot cloud/network/identity/security/hybrid issues across environments.
• Ensure RMF/ATO compliance, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring.
