Job summary

My3Tech seeks a senior AWS developer in Raleigh to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions for data modernization efforts. You will work closely with data teams to modernize applications and migrate legacy systems to the cloud.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years of software development experience, strong Python/Java skills, and hands-on AWS expertise, including data lake building, security governance, and CI/CD processes.

Qualifications

• 10 years data processing & transformation: AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, EMR, Athena, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, AWS Step Functions, AWS SageMaker
• 10 years data ingestion & storage: S3, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, DMS
• 7 years modernizing applications including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development
• 7 years knowledge of modern database technologies and strategies for migrating and modernizing databases
• 7 years experience creating AWS ETL jobs and data pipelines with high data volumes
• 7 years experience with DevOps practices and automation tools
• 7 years Java development including Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate
• 7 years Agile/Scrum environments
• 7 years strong communication and collaboration to work with cross-functional teams
• 7 years data analytics with Power BI or AWS QuickSight

Responsibilities

Job Description

Client is looking to hire a senior AWS developer with 10-15 years of software development experience. This role involves close collaboration with the data modernization teams at ITD and DPH to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions.

Skill Sets and experience includes

• Extensive experience in developing/ building AWS Data Lake formation, contributing extensively to design, development and writing code.
• Experience in modernizing legacy applications, which should include refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment.
• Proficient in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes.
• Must have experience in Data Ingestion & Storage, Data Processing & Transformation and working with AWS Machine Language using appropriate AWS services.
• Experience in customizing AWS ETL logic using Python code.
• Knowledgeable and experience in security and data governance covering areas such as fine-grained permissions, managing user and service permissions, data encryption, auditing, and compliance.
• Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Python scripting, and any prior experience in Object oriented languages is a plus.
• Experience working with any transactional or RDMS databases
• Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, Iac, automation, building CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging.
• Knowledge / experience using any ETL tools, experience with data analytics using PowerBI or AWS QuickSight etc. is plus.
• Must have experience/familiar with Agile/Scrum Framework environments.
