Job summary

Innovative Development, LLC is seeking a hands-on Cloud Engineer to join our on-site team in Winston-Salem, NC. You will develop, deploy, and support Python applications in production within an AWS environment, using CDK or Terraform to build cloud resources and maintain automation pipelines.

Responsibilities include driving automation, security, and performance improvements while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to implement reliable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting Python in production.
• 3–5 years of experience with CDK or Terraform to build/manage Cloud resources.
• Experience with Boto3, Chalice, Chef, Puppet, Ansible or similar frameworks for AWS.
• Demonstrated ability to write at least one scripting language (Shell, Python, Ruby) or Java.
• Strong AWS fundamentals with hands-on in Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, EC2, VPC.
• 2–3 years React-based UI development experience.

This is a W2 position with Innovative Development. 5 days/week onsite in Winston Salem, NC is required. Please no C2C applicants

Responsibilities

• Work closely with various teams within IT to provide hands-on engagement to develop, and implement reliable, secured and cost-effective cloud solutions in an AWS environment
• Participate with a cross department‑functional team to establish a cloud operational governance framework
• Lead significant production improvements, drive to achieve a high degree of automation, security, and performance management. Provide expertise and leadership in cloud services architecture and application space
• Communicates effectively, works collaboratively and cooperatively with others

Required Skills, Knowledge And Experience

• 3-5 years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting Python applications in a production environment
• 3- 5 years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting CDK or Terraform scripts/ applications in a production environment to build and manage Cloud resources
• Experience with Boto 3 SDK, Chalice, Chef, Puppet, Ansible and other frameworks for AWS
• Demonstrated ability to write at least one scripting language and/or one programming language such as Shell, Python, Ruby, Java or other equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to write scripting/ programming languages such as Shell, Ruby, Java or other equivalent
• Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud fundamentals including minimum of 3 years supporting AWS environments in both test and production, specific experience with the following:
• Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Dynamo DB, EC2, Glue, Kinesis, EMR, Glacier, IAM, ELB, VPC, Bash, CDN and Strong Networking knowledge
• 2-3 years React-based UI development experience required
• Experience with Azure DevOps, code management, pipelines and release management
• Experience developing automated unit test scripts and conducting integration testing
• Experience with AI Coding Assistants (Kiro preferred)

Preferred Skills, Knowledge And Experience

• AWS Developer Associate Certification is preferred
• AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification is preferred
• AWS experience - experience of ingesting large volumes of data in the terabyte or petabyte range
• Strong knowledge around monitoring and load testing applications
• Software development experience in financial services or real estate related industries a plus
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to details
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience
