Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Columbus, OH is hiring an AWS Infrastructure Engineer to join a cloud platform team. You will build and automate AWS infrastructure, enforce security guardrails, and partner with application teams to deliver reliable platform services.

The role is hybrid, with in-office presence 2 days per week (Mondays & Wednesdays). You will work on provisioning accounts, serverless services, observability, and incident response while advancing automation and guardrails

Qualifications

• Experience engineering and supporting AWS infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automated deployment pipelines, and cloud operations.
• Strong troubleshooting across infrastructure, access, logging, and deployment.
• Ability to work with cross-functional partners to deliver practical infrastructure solutions.
• Structured work across testing, change control, and production validation.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and support AWS workload accounts and shared infrastructure.
• Develop and troubleshoot infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation.
• Engineer core AWS platform components like Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
• Improve security posture with guardrails and least-privilege access patterns.
• Support observability and operational visibility with logging and dashboards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident management.
• Design scalable solutions for repeated engineering needs.
