Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to join the AWS Infrastructure Services team.

You will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facilities, including diesel generators, UPS, PDUs, chillers, cooling towers, and fire/life safety systems, ensuring high availability and safety. This role requires flexible scheduling, ability to travel between data center sites, and hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, with a focus on

Qualifications

2+ years of electrical facilities maintenance.
2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLAs.
Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Technical writing to support change management program.
Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work complies with practices and local regulations.
Work schedule changes; shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
Role may support more than one location/site.
