Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical facilities, including standby diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, and related systems.

You will perform rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, and troubleshoot to sustain 99.999% uptime. Role requires travel between active data centers, occasional site training, and on-site work with contractors.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical or data center facilities experience
• High school or equivalent diploma
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends
• Ability to travel to between data center locations as needed

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Technical writing to support change management program
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with practices and local legislation
• Work schedule changes depending on site needs; shifts up to 12 hours and may rotate; on-call rotations
• Role may support more than one location/site
