Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an AWS Systems Engineer in Herndon, VA to design scalable AWS infrastructure and automate deployments for enterprise applications.

The role emphasizes compliance, security, and efficient development workflows within Agile teams, using Terraform, Jenkins, and GitHub. TS/SCI with Polygraph is required, with core hours 9am–3pm and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• AWS Infrastructure: Strong experience operating and supporting AWS cloud environments with high‑availability patterns.
• Infrastructure as Code: Designing and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• CI/CD & Automation: Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins for deploying web applications.
• Development Workflows: Managing source control and workflows with GitHub for code quality.
• Agile Methodology: Experience in Agile teams and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Linux/Unix Expertise: Managing and hardening RHEL/Rocky Linux systems.
• Scripting & Programming: Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation.
• Security & Compliance: Securing platform components, secret management, PKI, and certification artifacts.
• System Documentation: Maintaining architecture diagrams and runbooks.

Responsibilities
