Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to drive infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines across cloud environments from the United States. This remote role requires an active DoD Secret clearance and hands-on Terraform expertise to design and operate scalable, secure cloud infrastructure with automated deployment pipelines.

You will collaborate with development and platform teams, enforce best practices, participate in on‑call rotations, and contribute to incident response and postmortems

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance (or higher) required at time of hire.
• 3+ years of DevOps/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Hands-on Terraform for infrastructure-as-code across multi-environment cloud deployments.
• Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline).
• Strong working knowledge of core cloud services (networking, IAM, load balancing, monitoring).
• Experience with version control workflows (Git) and code review practices for infrastructure and pipeline code.
• Solid scripting/automation ability (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to document and explain technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Terraform code for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure across dev, staging, and production environments.
• Implement and enforce Terraform state management, workspace strategy, and module versioning to support multiple teams safely.
• Establish and follow IaC best practices: code review standards, automated plan/apply workflows, drift detection, and policy-as-code guardrails.
• Identify and remediate technical debt in existing infrastructure code to improve maintainability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with architecture and security teams to ensure infrastructure design aligns with security baselines and compliance requirements.
