Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an AVP, Authentication – Wallets to monitor wallet authentication performance and influence fraud strategy across programs. You will partner with the Emerging Payments and Fraud Strategy teams, develop actionable plans, and lead data-driven improvements in tokenization and digital wallets.

The role emphasizes analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and a flexible working model with remote or hub-based work options and occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in Credit, Marketing, Risk or Collections in Financial services, or 10+ years in those areas without a degree.
• Experience analyzing large data sets to derive strategies and actionable fraud insights (SAS/SQL/R/Python or related analytical tools).
• Advanced proficiency with Excel.
• Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor authentication performance and its impact on wallet performance.
• Develop tactical and strategic action plans to address wallet/tokenization fraud risk.
• Partner with Emerging Payments on tokenization and digital wallets programs.
• Collaborate with fraud policy teams on early days since provisioning authorization rules.
• Build and manage dashboards; use analytics tools to analyze user behavior and identify friction points.
• Conduct deep dive analysis of authentication leakage and respond to wallet program complaints.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
