Job summary

WSP seeks an Assistant Vice President, Structural Engineering to lead the Property & Buildings team in Irvine, CA. The role provides high-level technical guidance for design, analysis, and delivery of complex building projects, mentoring engineers, and coordinating multi-discipline teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Structural or Civil Engineering with 10+ years of experience, a professional license, and proven leadership in design and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (required).
• 10+ years of post-education experience in engineering discipline with structural/civil design exposure.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Proficiency in structural concepts, design, and project management.
• Experience with building/infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale structural engineering projects and manage budgets, hours, and subcontractors.
• Mentor staff and guide mid- to senior-level team members.
• Develop construction plans, specs, and cost estimates; ensure QA/QC.
