Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Structural Engineer to join the Portland, Maine A/E practice. The role leads structural designs on multi-disciplinary projects and mentors junior staff, while cultivating growth for the firm. The team collaborates across offices with a focus on sustainable, resilient design.

You will manage technical staff, develop construction drawings, and present solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, with opportunities to engage in business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer registration.
• US Citizenship.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis software (STAAD Pro, ETABS, RISA).
• Experience delivering projects from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
• Lead a team of engineers and designers on structural engineering activities from concept to construction documents.
• Analyze new and existing structures per required code.
• Develop calculation packages as required.
• Prepare technical reports with sound recommendations.
• Develop structural models to solve engineering problems.
