Job summary

LPL Financial seeks an AVP Security Architect to design and implement security across cloud and on‑prem environments, partnering with Development, Operations and Enterprise Architecture to protect data and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has extensive information security experience, strong architectural skills, and familiarity with AWS, Terraform, and security controls; CCSP/CISSP is a plus, with emphasis on threat prevention and incident response.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of information security and IT risk management experience with infrastructure or systems background.
• 2+ years of experience on M&A integrations.
• 5+ years of experience with information security controls, guidelines, and standards (ISO27000, OWASP, CSA CCM, CIS 20, SOX, and NIST).

Responsibilities

• Mature network, infrastructure and data security capabilities for LPL Financial.
• Provide guidance on industry best practices as SME.
• Support M&A integrations and secure design and solution implementation.
• Create infrastructure and data security architectures using defensible industry reference architectures.
• Collaborate with Data and Enterprise Architects on securing data with masking and tokenization.
• Document and train stakeholders on security requirements for secure design.
• Identify cybersecurity risks and propose remediation across domains.
• Develop and approve cybersecurity standards and track control compliance.
• Participate in security advisory boards and architect reviews.
• Analyze new threats and implement mitigation; communicate risks to business units.
