Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP, Engineering Security Operations to lead a team responsible for the operational effectiveness and innovation of security controls across the organization. You will guide security tooling, incident response playbooks, and continuous improvement to protect critical infrastructure.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in information security with leadership in security operations, plus hands-on expertise in SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and IAM.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of information security experience with 5+ years in security operations or engineering leadership.
• Experience leading teams across network, endpoint, cloud security, IAM, and DLP.
• 2+ years managing SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Exabeam, Sentinel).
• 2+ years with EDR solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender).
• 2+ years in vulnerability management platforms (e.g., Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of security engineers for daily operations and maintenance of security tech.
• Oversee deployment, configuration, and optimization of security tools.
• Develop runbooks for incident response, threat hunting, and tool mgmt.
• Drive continuous improvements in security operations processes and automation.
• Collaborate with IT to embed security requirements in new systems.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new security tech.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote learning.
• Participate in incident response with tool expertise.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal policies.
• Report security metrics to senior leadership.
