Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP, Edge Security Engineer to join the Network & Security Engineering team. You will architect, build, and support enterprise edge infrastructure and security controls, delivering scalable and secure solutions for a 24/7 operation.

This role collaborates with engineering and business partners to shape edge security strategy, run on-call rotations, and drive automation. A strong background in CDN security, monitoring, and load balancing is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on designing, building, and supporting enterprise edge infrastructure and security controls using CDN platforms (Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai).
• 4+ years hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring platforms (Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana).
• 3+ years hands-on experience with global load balancing (NS1, Route 53, UltraDNS, Cloudflare Load Balancing).
• 2+ years hands-on experience managing enterprise DNS solutions (Infoblox, BIND).
• 2+ years building infrastructure automation with Terraform, Ansible, Python or Go.
• 4+ years collaborating with development teams and project/program managers to architect and deliver infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and support highly available, secure, and scalable edge infrastructure.
• Partner with Enterprise and Security Architecture teams to align with security standards.
• Perform continuous edge threat hunting and mitigation.
• Define and implement edge security standards to drive automation and scale.
• Improve availability, security, and observability while closing gaps across edge environments.
• Conduct research and POCs to evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver secure, customer-focused solutions.
• Participate in an on-call rotation supporting availability, security, and performance incidents.
