Job summary

Pape-Dawson Consulting Engineers, LLC.Savannah, GA is seeking an Associate Vice President to lead the land development team, guide project delivery, and drive office growth. This hands-on leader will own complex residential projects, mentor staff, and develop key client relationships in the public and private sectors.

The AVP will balance project delivery with business development, maintain technical excellence, and represent the firm in industry and community settings.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Georgia.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive civil engineering and land development experience.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams.
• Strong business development, proposal, and client interview skills.
• Ability to balance project execution, staff development, client service, and business development.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Savannah land development team and support office growth.
• Provide leadership and direction to project managers, engineers, designers, and staff.
• Own complex residential land development projects from planning to closeout.
• Serve as primary client contact with private developers, public agencies, municipalities, and partners.
• Lead projects involving large-scale residential development, infrastructure, utilities, drainage.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership while meeting quality, schedule, and budget goals.
• Mentor staff, support career development, and build succession within Savannah.
• Support recruiting and retention of key team members.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking and market engagement.
• Lead or support proposals, RFQs/RFPs, scoping, fee development, and contract negotiations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with public-sector clients.
