Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA seeks an Associate Vice President for Quality, Safety and Regulatory to lead the system-wide quality, safety and regulatory strategy reporting to the Chief Quality Officer. You will collaborate with leaders across the organization to advance accreditation readiness and a culture of safety.

You will oversee Directors, expand Lean-based improvement efforts, integrate risk management, and drive compliance with state/federal requirements while fostering staff

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above in public health, nursing, health care administration, business administration or related areas.
• RN degree preferred.
• Lean certification preferred and if not certified, must be committed to achieve certification in a reasonable timeframe.
• Seven years related experience in management roles; minimum of 10 years related professional experience.
• Deep experience with regulatory environment, risk management, patient safety science, and quality measures.
• Proven leadership, change agent with project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; proficiency with standard software.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain readiness for Joint Commission and other accreditations with tracer rounds and standardized data exports.
• Set quality and safety goals aligned to national standards and strategic plan.
• Improve standard work processes and broad communications for quality initiatives.
• Build internal/external networks to coordinate quality, safety, and regulatory functions.
• Standardize automated data use for reporting and improvement.
• Coordinate with Risk Management for mandatory/serious event reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Support daily management system and Lean-based problem solving across teams.
• Mentor Directors of Quality, Safety and Regulatory to foster learning and performance improvement.
