Job summary

UMass Memorial Medical Center, Inc. is seeking an Associate Vice President for Quality, Safety and Regulatory (AVP QSR) to lead the quality, safety, and regulatory agenda across UMMMC/UMMMG.

You will develop and oversee strategies, ensure compliance with Joint Commission, DPH, and other regulators, and mentor the QSR leadership team in pursuit of continuous improvement. You will collaborate with the CQS team to implement safety culture and drive improvements in clinical outcomes, patient safety,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in public health, nursing, healthcare administration, business administration or related areas.
• Minimum 7 years in management roles with healthcare/regulatory emphasis.
• Extensive experience with regulatory environments, risk management and quality improvement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership capabilities.
• Experience with Lean and process improvement and healthcare AI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain readiness for Joint Commission or other accrediting bodies.
• Collaborate to set quality and safety goals aligned to national standards.
• Improve standard work and cross-functional communication for safety improvements.
• Create internal/external networks for quality, safety, and regulatory functions.
• Utilize automated data in reporting quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Integrate system processes with Risk Management for mandatory/serious event reporting.
• Lead daily management systems and lean-based problem solving.
• Mentor Directors of Quality, Safety and Regulatory toward continuous improvement.
