Job summary

United Way of New York City is seeking an Associate Vice President, Organizational Operations to lead cross-functional operational initiatives, optimize workflows, and strengthen governance across UWNYC’s core systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in organizational operations, project management, or related area.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management and administration of online business systems.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives.
• Experience implementing, administering, or improving organizational systems, workflows, and business processes.
• Experience with procurement, competitive vendor-selection processes, vendor management, contracts, and compliance requirements.
• Prior experience supervising and developing staff.
• Prior experience managing budgets and monitoring organizational resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional operational projects from planning through implementation and evaluation.
• Develop project plans with objectives, scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, responsibilities, dependencies, and success measures.
• Promote consistent project-management practices and tools across initiatives.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and manage dependencies and delays.
• Escalate material project risks and decisions to VP, Organizational Operations.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings, document decisions, and ensure follow-through.
• Manage RFPs, RFAs, and RFQs with departments.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen operational practices and efficiency.
• Support development, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of policies and procedures.
• Oversee and govern key systems and processes to ensure governance, access, training, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate system changes, testing, training, and documentation.
• Maintain system documentation and user resources and provide training and support.
