Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks an AVP of Talent and Leadership Development to lead leadership development, succession planning, and talent readiness across the enterprise. You will design and continuously enhance programs, coach senior leaders, and drive a robust pipeline aligned with strategic objectives.

As a trusted advisor, you will leverage Hogan or similar assessments, manage partnerships, and oversee executive development initiatives to strengthen leadership depth and organizational continuity.

Qualifications

• Experience with Hogan or similar leadership assessments.
• Master's degree in organizational development, industrial/organizational psychology, HR, business or related field preferred.
• 10+ years in talent management, leadership development, executive development, or related discipline.
• Proven experience coaching executives and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise talent review and calibration practices to evaluate leadership talent and readiness.
• Oversee succession planning for executive and senior roles, monitor bench strength and risks.
• Advise senior leaders and HR on leadership effectiveness and development planning.
• Design scalable leadership experiences, including academies, mentoring, and executive education.
• Leverage analytics to assess readiness, succession health, and program impact.
• Coordinate with external coaches and providers, exploring AI-enabled capabilities.
