Job summary

Travelers is seeking an AVP, Business Torts Complex Claim Liability Specialist in Minnesota to lead investigations, evaluations, negotiations and resolutions of highly complex claims. You will work with underwriting, legal counsel, and leadership to deliver optimal outcomes.

You will oversee end-to-end claims handling for severe General Liability, Cyber and E&O matters, establish reserves, and mentor a team of claims professionals while maintaining regulatory compliance and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience with complex General Liability, Cyber and E&O claims.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle the most severe and complex General Liability, Cyber, and E&O claims from initiation to resolution.
• Lead end-to-end investigation and coverage analysis, draft letters, and assess recovery potential.
• Establish accurate reserves and adjust as needed throughout the lifecycle.
• Evaluate liability and damages, including data breach, ransomware, business interruption, and privacy claims.
• Manage files from inception through resolution and participate in litigation teams as needed.
• Attend mediations and settlements within authority and negotiate favorable outcomes.
• Identify risk transfer and subrogation opportunities as appropriate.
• Partner with underwriting and leadership to provide claims intelligence on trends.
• Mentor and guide other claims professionals.
