Job summary

Sompo International is seeking an AVP, Claims Counsel to lead complex Cyber, Media & Technology claims in the U.S. market. You will analyze coverage, liability, and damages, guide underwriters and senior management, and contribute to policy language.

You will collaborate with global claims teams, travel as needed, and mentor junior staff as part of a high‑impact professional liability practice in a major financial lines unit.

Qualifications

• JD required with ideally 8+ years in Cyber, Media & Technology claims.
• Proven experience handling primary and excess Cyber, Media & Technology claims.
• Strong ability to analyze coverage, liability, damages, and exposures.
• Experience attending mediations and drafting Professional Lines policy language.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage complex Cyber, Media & Technology claims from inception through resolution.
• Identify key exposures and trends; provide assessments to SompoPro.
• Respond to coverage questions and support underwriting and senior management.
• Draft and contribute to policy language and related docs.
• Represent the company at client meetings, mediations, and industry events.
• Collaborate with global claims, underwriting, and other groups; travel as needed.
• Some travel required.
