Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, Assistant Vice President, Civil Engineering to join the Northeast Civil Transportation team in New York City or Valhalla, NY.

The successful candidate will lead design delivery for NYC public infrastructure projects, mentor engineers, manage budgets, interface with clients and agencies, and ensure high-quality deliverables across highways, transit, and related facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience with NYC public infrastructure design.
• Experience delivering projects for NY public agencies such as MTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, Port Authority.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads.
• NY Professional Engineer license required.
• Experience mentoring staff.
• Experience presenting solutions to NYC agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of NYC transportation projects including highways, urban streets, and transit facilities.
• Mentor and supervise civil engineers to deliver project documents on schedule.
• Interface with clients, project management, and consultants as Civil Project Lead.
• Prepare drawings, specs, calculations, and permitting packages for local agencies.
• Conduct quality reviews of work by junior staff.
• Manage tasks, budgets, and components on small to mid-size civil projects.
• Coordinate among internal and external stakeholders.
• Present technical solutions to NYC-based public clients.
• Contribute to proposals, scopes, and pursuit strategies.
• Share NYC civil best practices with junior engineers.
