Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Senior Technical Manager, AVP, Civil Engineering to lead NYC transportation projects from our New York City or Valhalla, NY offices. You will guide design teams, interface with NYC agencies and clients, and deliver high-quality infrastructure documents for projects with agencies like MTA, NYSDOT, and Port Authority.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and collaboration with clients and consultants, including proposal input and budget oversight.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
10+ years of civil engineering experience with substantial NYC public infrastructure design.
Professional Engineer license in New York required.
Experience delivering projects for NYC public agencies including MTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC and Port Authority of NY & NJ.
Mentoring engineering staff and presenting solutions to NYC agencies.

Responsibilities

Lead design of NYC-based transportation projects and supervise engineers.
Interface with clients, project management, discipline leads and other consultants.
Prepare and review drawings, specifications, calculations, and permitting packages.
Manage task assignments, project components, and budgets on civil projects.
Mentor junior engineers and share NYC civil best practices.
Present technical solutions to NYC-based public clients.
