Job summary

Vantage Risk Ltd. in Chicago seeks an experienced AVP, Ceded Reinsurance to lead execution of the company’s ceded reinsurance programs and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, maintain accurate records, and produce timely reports on ceded activity. The role requires deep knowledge of ceded arrangements, policy terms, and claims processes, with strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years in ceded reinsurance operations.
• Strong knowledge of treaty and facultative reinsurance, loss reserves, and claims.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Ceded team’s management of the execution of the company's ceded reinsurance programs, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain an understanding of ceded reinsurance arrangements, policy terms, contract provisions, and claims processes for pre-placement and post-placement activities.
• Develop strong relationships with reinsurance brokers, business units, finance, legal, and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution.
• Ensure all ceded reinsurance activities follow regulatory requirements, with proper documentation and reporting.
• Partner with reinsurance brokers throughout placement lifecycle, including submission prep, market strategy, terms negotiation, contract wording review, and binding.
• Provide timely and accurate reports on ceded reinsurance activities and status, including placement documentation.
• Continuously monitor and analyze ceded reinsurance processes, identify opportunities for improvement.
