Job summary

Agilent Technologies, a global leader in laboratory and clinical technologies, is expanding its Advanced Therapeutics (AAT) division. The Associate Vice President, Business Development will shape strategy, drive growth, and forge partnerships in CDMO services across Canada and the US, leveraging Agilent’s fermentation, purification, HPAPI, bioreagents, and cell line capabilities.

The role requires 10+ years in BD leadership in life sciences, strong executive collaboration, and proven deal-making

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
10+ years of business development leadership experience in CDMO/biopharmaceutical or nucleic acid therapeutics.
Strong technical and commercial understanding of modalities listed (fermentation, purification, HPAPI, cell line development).
Proven track record closing high-value deals and managing strategic partnerships.
Experience with C-suite executives, biotech founders, and key stakeholders.
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Lead business development and commercial strategy for AAT CDMO services.
Develop and execute growth strategy for Canada locations and partnerships.
Identify and secure opportunities with biotech/pharma firms developing nucleic acid therapies.
Negotiate deals, structure contracts, and form strategic partnerships to drive revenue.
Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Sales Ops, Quality, PM, and Development teams to craft value propositions.
Mentor the business development team and align long-term commercial strategies.
