Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Sector in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Systems Integration & Avionics Engineer to support maintenance, integration, inspection, and troubleshooting for small airborne missiles, UAS, and payloads. You will work across avionics, instrument systems, and related airborne electronics within a prototype environment.

The role offers hands-on opportunities in design, integration, and production transitions, with potential field support and travel. U.S.

Qualifications

High school diploma with 6+ years OR associate/bachelor with relevant experience.
Experience with avionics maintenance, repair, and integration on UAS or missiles.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and installation drawings.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
Willingness to travel or deploy for field support.

Responsibilities

Design and integrate new avionics solutions in a prototype design team.
Integrate avionics, sensors, or control systems into UAS platforms; perform installation, wiring, mounting, alignment, configuration, documentation, and functional checks.
Perform maintenance, calibration, and testing of avionics/instrument systems.
Troubleshoot discrepancies using manuals and test equipment.
Transition prototypes to production and support fielding.
Lead on‑the‑job training for junior staff.
Maintain detailed maintenance, inspection, and repair records.
Support mission readiness by responding to unscheduled maintenance or field deployment as needed.
