Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Sector seeks an experienced Systems Integration & Avionics Engineer to support maintenance, integration, inspection, and troubleshooting of missiles, UAS, and payload effectors. The role spans avionics, instrumentation, and airborne electronics in a prototype environment with potential transition to production.

You will contribute to design decisions, perform system checks, and assist in training junior staff while traveling as needed for field support.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 8+ years of related experience, or an Associate's with 6+ years, or a Bachelor's with 4+ years.
Advanced knowledge of avionics maintenance, installation, testing, and integration.
Experience with UAS or missile launcher systems and ability to read wiring diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

Design and integrate new avionics solutions as part of a prototype design team.
Integrate avionics, sensors, and control systems into UAS platforms with installation and testing.
Inspect, service, calibrate, and document avionics/instrument systems and data links.
Troubleshoot discrepancies using manuals, schematics, and test equipment.
Maintain Ground Support Equipment, perform post‑integration tests, and support production transitions.
Lead or assist in training junior engineers and ensure safety and SOP compliance.
