Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to support design, integration and test programs for missile systems and unmanned aircraft. The role spans avionics, hardware fabrication, testing, and field operations in development, prototype, and production environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Experience reading electrical schematics, system diagrams, mechanical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience building electrical and/or mechanical systems for defense customers and interest in hardware fabrication.
• Parts selection and wiring harness fabrication experience.
• Familiarity with lab/test equipment such as DMMs, scopes, power supplies, analyzers.
• Understanding of PCB layout design and SMT manufacturing experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel ~10% and ability to obtain/maintain SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, troubleshoot, route, and repair wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Build electrical and mechanical systems for defense customers.
• Fabricate production and prototype hardware from schematics and drawings.
• Test and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software in lab and field.
• Collect and correlate test data using lab equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers and teams to optimize hardware solutions.
• Contribute to system hardware and software architecture decisions.
• Work independently within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
• Coordinate with purchasing and shops to procure hardware.
• Assist manufacturing in transitioning prototype to deliverable product.
