Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Sector in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Systems Integration & Avionics Engineer to support maintenance, integration, inspection, and troubleshooting of small airborne missiles, UAS, and payload effectors.

The ideal candidate will read wiring diagrams, install avionics, calibrate systems, and document work while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team; UAS/missile experience and ability to travel are preferred.

Qualifications

Experience: HS/GED with 8+ yrs, AS with 6 yrs, or BA with 4 yrs in relevant field.
Experience with avionics/instrumentation maintenance, repair, and integration on UAS or missile systems.
Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals and installation drawings.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Willingness to travel and deploy as required for field support.

Responsibilities

Design and integrate new solutions as part of a prototype design team.
Integrate avionics, sensors, or control systems into UAS platforms; install, wire, mount, align, configure, document, and test.
Inspect, service, maintain, and calibrate avionics/instrument systems (navigation, comms, flight-control electronics, sensors, data links, power).
Troubleshoot discrepancies using manuals, schematics, and test equipment.
Perform GSE maintenance, operation, setup, teardown, and inspection for safe launches.
Conduct post-integration testing and flight-line acceptance checks.
Transition prototypes to production environments and support post-fielding sustainment.
